Guided by practitioner faculty, Saybrook University’s certification program provides an alternative for the individual who wishes to obtain comprehensive mind-body medicine training without undertaking a full academic degree program in integrative medicine. The integrative medicine certification is a 10-credit program, including three academic courses, one graduate colloquium, and an integrative capstone essay. The number of Residential Conferences varies according to the choice of courses. The Certificate in Integrative Medicine program includes:
- Mind-body medicine training
- Integrative medicine courses
- Integrative nutrition courses
- Consulting skills
- Courses on biofeedback
- Naturopathy courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine
The Certificate in Mind-Body Medicine program is designed for educators, health professionals, and change agents who want to promote lifestyle and self-regulation approaches to health and wellness. Mind-Body medicine students will learn powerful mind-body and complementary and alternative medicine intervention skills to help treat a host of medical and mental health issues. Upon completion, they will receive an integrative medicine certificate that they can apply to their existing wellness practice.
Graduates will understand how to integrate holistic medicine approaches into their practice utilizing their mind-body medicine training and nutrition training in conjunction with medical and mental health treatments, as well as with the general population—enhancing stress management, preventing illness, achieving optimal performance, and promoting health and wellbeing.
