Areas of Study

What you call the ‘external world’ is as much you as your own body

College of Social Sciences

The College of Social Sciences offers M.A. and Ph.D. programs that provide students with hands-on experience and mentoring from faculty who are active and experienced in their respective disciplines. Committed to an approach of understanding individuals, groups, couples, and families within their broader social and cultural context, graduates learn to understand the interconnectivity of various systems and to make significant change. Applying what they have learned to a variety of fields, graduates can find successful careers in business, nonprofit, government agencies, and private practice.

College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences

Many of our students recognize the health care system as being broken and wish to change it from within through an existing medical practice or from the outside by offering alternatives to traditional medicine. The College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences offers non-clinical M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. programs that focus on holistic and integrative approaches that are increasingly becoming an essential part of conventional health care. Treating the mind, body, and spirit of their clients, graduates find opportunities for career advancement in fields such as health coaching, organizational consultation, education, research, and corporate wellness.

Certificates and Professional Studies

Some students are not looking for a traditional degree. To serve students at any stage of their lives or careers, Saybrook offers a variety of non-degree programs including: certificate programs and workshops. Facilitating advancement in professional areas including psychology, management, and nutrition, these programs emphasize a holistic understanding of various systems.
