Don Moss new President-Elect for the APA’s Society on Hypnosis

Don Moss, Saybrook’s Mind-Body Medicine program director, has been elected President of Division 30 of the American Psychological Association for the term of 2010 – 2011. 

Division 30 is the Society of Psychological Hypnosis.

The election is one more example of Saybrook’s long leadership in the American Psychological Association’s divisions as well as in the field of mind-body medicine and  hypnosis. 

The current President of Division 30 is Saybrook faculty member Eric Willmarth, whose term expires in 2010.  Willmarth also received the American Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis’ Presidential Recognition Award this year. 

Additionally, Saybrook faculty members Ian Wickramasekera was Division 30 President from 1995-1996, and faculty member Stanley Krippner served as President from 1997 – 1998. 

Saybrook alumna Joan Hageman has also been nominated as editor for the Division 30 Newsletter. 

In addition to his work with Saybrook, Moss is the editor of Biofeedback Magazine, and practices at the A partner at the Psychological Services Center in Michigan, where he is a partner.  He also conducts trainings on Mind-Body Medicine techniques like medical hypnosis and biofeedback internationally. 

Moss said he is “honored by this announcement.”
