The second day started early with a 7 AM Div 52-200 Fellow Speakers Reception, with Rivka Meir, Ph.D., Saybrook Alumna. This event was held at the Division 52 International Suite.
At 11 AM, Ruth Richards, Ph.D., M.D., Saybrook Faculty member received the Rudolf Arnheim Award for Outstanding Achievement in Psychology and the Arts, and her Invited Address was titled: Paradoxes of Everyday Creativity? Measuring Novelty, Healthy-Unhealthy, Beauty-Chaos The talk was extremely engaging, and Ruth received much applause-well deserved, Ruth!
From 1 to 4:50, Stan Krippner, Ph.D., Saybrook Faculty participated in the continuing education workshop, Whole Person Approaches to Trauma-Posttraumatic Growth.
At 3 PM, Dr. Ruth Richards was the Co-Chair of the symposium, Dreams of Perfection— Remembering Del Morrison.
Also at 3 PM, Elliot Benjamin, M.A., Saybrook Doctoral Student displayed the poster Artistic Psychology, Mathematical Giftedness, and Mental Disturbance in Children in the Advances in Humanistic Theory, Research, and Practice Poster Session.
From 3 to 4:50, Art Bohart, Ph.D., Saybrook Faculty, and Kirk Schneider, Ph.D., Saybrook Alumnus and Faculty delivered papers in the symposium, Carl Rogers, Rollo May, and Humanity’s Dark Side. Art’s paper was titled: Psychotherapy and the Client’s Relationship to Negative Experience , and Kirk’s paper was titled: Ontology and Depth: Rollo May’s Inseparable Duo. This was an engaging two hour symposium, which featured talks by Peter F. Schmid and Maureen O’Hara, in addition to the talks by Art and Stan. Stan was also the Chair of this symposium.
