Dear friends of AHIMSA,
AHIMSA Berkeley and The Metta Center for Nonviolence Education present a Free Public Forum:
Inspiration from Peace Movements Worldwide
Taking Stock of Peace
Date: Sunday, October 30, 2:30-6:30 pm
Venue: Berkeley Society of Friends, 2151 Vine St. in Berkeley
You are invited to a celebration of the global peace movement and a discussion with some of its leading voices.
This special event launches the recent publicationof Peace Movements Worldwide, a three-volume anthology with chapters covering insights and action from every continent, to which Saybrook Alumni have contributed. The 80 contributors combine multidisciplinary insights with accounts of courageous and creative actions, ranging from the personal to the global.
Co-editors, UC Emeriti professors and scholar activists
Marc Pilisuk and Michael Nagler
will be joined by other contributors to read excerpts from their chapters and discuss what they’ve learned in this in-depth survey of the global peace movement:
Where are we today, and where do we go from here?
