Full-time Psychology Faculty Position—Bakersfield, CA

National University, Department of Psychology, invites applications for a one-year Full-Time faculty position in Bakersfield, CA.

The position may be renewable subject to budgetary considerations.

Responsibilities
The faculty member will teach on-site undergraduate graduate and counseling psychology courses. The appointee will also have the responsibility for management of an off-site BA Interdisciplinary Studies programs in Portersville, CA, and on-site MA Counseling Psychology courses at the Bakersfield center, which includes hiring, training, staffing and oversight of adjunct teachers, academic advising of students, interviewing/oversight of graduate students, coordination of off-site practicum agencies, and conformity of the programs to Departmental and University standards and procedures. Full-Time faculty members contribute to departmental governance and attend monthly on-line faculty meetings, and bi-annual faculty meetings in San Diego.

Qualifications
An MA in a mental health discipline from an accredited institution, with a current license as MFT is required; a PhD, PsyD. or EdD with (or close to) license is preferred. The preferred candidate should have interest in graduate and undergraduate education with specific expertise in strengths based counseling psychology. Candidates should have experience and commitment to adult learners, and commitment to diversity in student populations and services to diverse client populations.

It is a “presidential appointment” with full time salary and benefits for the time being but could transition to a regular core if the enrollments build in Bakersfield, as we expect them to.
