Head%20Shot - Saybrook’s Francinne Lawrence on complementary practices for cancer survivors

Saybrook Ph.D. Student Francinne Lawrence

As National Cancer Survivorship Month approaches, Francinne Lawrence, a Ph.D. candidate at Saybrook University, discussed the use of complementary health approaches to address the long-term and late-developing side-effects of cancer treatment.

Lawrence is director of THRIVE, the cancer survivorship program at Mary Bird Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, LA. On April 29, with Darien Marshall, host of the blog talk radio show, “It’s all about You”, Lawrence discussed the use of Mind-Body medicine techniques including meditation, yoga, art, and massage with cancer patients and the positive impact these healing modalities have on the lives of cancer survivors and caregivers.  Listeners internationally, including Brazil and Ethiopia, join on-going discussions that celebrate life, prosperity, and unlimited potential.
